Vikings RB Dalvin Cook carted off with shoulder injury
Jeffrey Becker-USA TODAY Sports

Minnesota Vikings star running back Dalvin Cook has been absolutely splendid in recent weeks, tallying nearly 600 total yards and three touchdowns over his past five games.

With his Vikings taking on the conference-rival San Francisco 49ers in a huge Week 12 matchup on Sunday, Cook exited in the third quarter with a shoulder injury. It came after he lost a fumble deep inside Minnesota’s territory and led to Cook being carted off the field.

Here’s a look at the play.

As you can see, Dalvin Cook was in a tremendous amount of pain. As Cook was on the field at Levi’s Stadium, both Vikings and 49ers players could be seen surrounding him while on their knees. That tells us the belief is that said injury is severe.

As for the Vikings, they announced almost immediately after that Cook will miss the remainder of the game with a shoulder injury.

A second-round pick out of Florida State back in 2017, Dalvin Cook is coming off consecutive 1,000-yard seasons. Last year alone, he tallied 1,918 total yards and 17 touchdowns at a clip of 5.4 yards per touch.

Obviously, Cook is vital to the Vikings’ success on offense as they attempt to overcome earlier-season struggles and earn a playoff spot down the stretch.

We’ll have further updates as they become available.
