Vikings sign OLB Quincy Roche to practice squad
USA TODAY Sports

One day after Luiji Vilain was poached off their practice squad to the Panthers' active roster, the Vikings have found his replacement. The team announced on Wednesday that outside linebacker Quincy Roche has been added to the p-squad.

Roche, 25, was a sixth-round pick by the Steelers in 2021, but was waived in final roster cuts that year. The Giants claimed him and he appeared in 14 games for New York as a rookie, starting three of them. Across 400 defensive snaps, he recorded 38 tackles, five TFL, 14 pressures, 2.5 sacks, and a forced fumble. His PFF grade was basically average at 59.6.

Despite a decent rookie season, Roche was cut in year two and spent most of the season on the Giants' practice squad, appearing in just three games. He spent the offseason this year with the Steelers. Now he joins the Vikings, where he'll serve for the time being as the No. 6 OLB behind Danielle Hunter, D.J. Wonnum, Pat Jones II, Andre Carter II, and Benton Whitley. Marcus Davenport is on injured reserve for at least three more games.

Prior to being drafted, Roche racked up 30.5 sacks, 54 total TFL, and eight forced fumbles across three seasons at Temple and one at Miami. He had 13 sacks, 19 total TFL, and five passes defended in his junior season at Temple in 2019.

A 6'3", 245-pound OLB, Roche earned a decent 6.41 RAS at the 2021 combine, highlighted by a 4.69 40 and a nearly ten-foot broad jump.
