Vikings WR Justin Jefferson makes his feelings clear on fantasy football

Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson is the latest NFL star to let fans know that he doesn't care about fantasy football.

The 2022 AP Offensive Player of the Year's social media post comes as he continues to battle a hamstring injury that has caused him to miss the past six games.

After making his third straight Pro Bowl and earning First-Team All-Pro honors for the first time last season, Jefferson was among the first players selected in fantasy football drafts across the world over the summer. Most drafters chose either Jefferson or San Francisco 49ers running back Christian McCaffrey with the first overall pick leading into the season.

McCaffrey has rewarded those who took a chance with his injury history, posting a league-leading 825 rushing yards along with 364 receiving yards on 43 catches. "Run CMC" has added nine scores on the ground and five via the air for an NFL-best 14 total touchdowns while playing in all 10 of San Francisco's games thus far.

Prior to his injury in Week 5 against the Kansas City Chiefs, Jefferson was his usual dominant self.

The 24-year-old opened the campaign with receiving yardage totals of 150, 159 and 149 in Weeks 1-3, before going for "only" 85 in Week 4 but adding his second and third touchdown receptions of the fall. Overall, Jefferson has registered 36 receptions for 571 yards and three touchdowns on 53 targets over five contests.

Jefferson is still on injured reserved but was designated to return on Nov. 8.

Oddly, Minnesota is just 1-4 in games that Jefferson played while the Vikings have gone 5-1 without him. The team also lost starting quarterback Kirk Cousins to a season-ending torn Achilles in October but has received solid play from new signal-caller Joshua Dobbs, who was acquired from the Arizona Cardinals at the trade deadline.

Vikings head coach Kevin O'Connell labeled Jefferson as questionable for the team's Week 12 game against the Chicago Bears.
