Vikings WR Justin Jefferson told Odell Beckham Jr. not to sign with division-rival Packers

Minnesota Vikings star wide receiver Justin Jefferson and current free agent Odell Beckham Jr. both played at LSU, and Jefferson was, per Myles Simmons of Pro Football Talk, one of the individuals who received cash from Beckham after the Tigers won the national title game in January 2020.

A report from earlier in the week said Beckham has "prioritized" the Green Bay Packers among teams he could join at any point moving forward, and multiple stories have since linked the three-time Pro Bowl selection with the Packers.

Green Bay All-Pro wide receiver Davante Adams admitted Wednesday he's recruited Beckham, as the two share an off-the-field friendship. Jefferson and OBJ are also tight, and the Minnesota target told reporters Thursday he's asked the 29-year-old to stay away from the Packers if at all possible.

Along with the Packers, the Kansas City Chiefs, Seattle Seahawks, New England Patriots and New Orleans Saints are all allegedly in the mix to earn Beckham's services, but he may wait until at least Monday to announce his final decision. The Vikings, meanwhile, have games against the Packers on Nov. 21 and Jan. 2, meaning Jefferson and Beckham could potentially have a pair of reunions before the postseason kicks off.

The Cleveland Browns, Beckham's most recent employer until (officially) earlier this week, defeated Minnesota on Oct. 3.
