The Minnesota Vikings have struggled in all areas during their primetime matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. However, quarterback Carson Wentz has been looking to Justin Jefferson in moments, and as expected, the star receiver makes the grab.

In the second quarter of the game, Wentz targeted Jefferson along the sideline, and he made the catch, but almost took out one of the team's key players in the process. Jefferson was headed right in the direction of J.J. McCarthy, who is serving as the team's emergency third quarterback as he recovers from an high-ankle sprain.

However, McCarthy proved that he could be ready to return soon as he made an impressive leap to avoid being taken down.

And afterwards, he celebrated Jefferson's catch, signaling a first down.

A moment that could have been bad turned into one that brings a smile to fans faces!

Carson Wentz suffers injury scare

Coming into Thursday's game, Wentz was dealing with a shoulder injury, but took the field wearing a huge brace.

Then, during the game, Wentz was seen in pain and walked off to the bench, putting his status for the remainder of the game in question. ESPN's Kevin Seifert reported that Max Brosmer was taking snaps from Blake Brandel, signaling that he might have to go into the game. But instead, Wentz was able to return.
