Von Miller regrets signing with Commanders over Seahawks

It was a coin flip decision for Von Miller last year to join either the Washington Commanders or Seattle Seahawks. In hindsight, the coin landed wrong side up.

Miller opened up about his free agency decision on the 89 podcast with Steve Smith and James Palmer where he shared: “Obviously I picked the wrong team on that one.”

However, when Miller originally signed with the Commanders the logic was there. The team was riding the momentum of a surprise playoff appearance the year before with young quarterback Jayden Daniels entering his second season at the helm.

But things didn’t go Miller or the Commanders way last season with Daniels missing multiple games and the team finishing 5-12 with the Seahawks going on to win the Super Bowl.

“For me, with the Washington Commanders, I just felt like Jayden Daniels was poised for another great season,” Miller said. “His rookie season went all the way to the NFC Championship, and last year, he got hi with injuries, not just at the quarterback position, but all over the place. And those are some of the things that you just can’t calculate on teams.”

Miller remains unsigned but is hoping to return to the Denver Broncos where his career first began.
