Warrant Issued For Los Angeles Chargers Star Cornerback
Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

On Sunday, the Los Angeles Chargers JC Jackson was a healthy scratch for the game against the Vikings. Everyone thought that it was due to the poor play of the $80 million cornerback but news on Monday may have revealed the true reason. A warrant has been issued for Jackson for violating his probation.

Warrant Issued For Los Angeles Chargers JC Jackson

Jackson was scheduled to appear in court last Friday stemming from a 2021 incident. He was charged with criminal speeding and did not complete three things needed for his probation. According to reports, he didn’t complete the “Brains At Risk” program he was ordered to take, nor did he pay a $300 fine. After failing to appear in court last week, the warrant was issued. Staley was non-committal on why Jackson was a healthy scratch and it is unclear whether it was related to the situation.

What Happens Now?

At this point, we have to see what the legal process is and what the NFL decides to do with Jackson. Even if Jackson works out his legal troubles, the NFL could still decide to suspend him. It is also unclear whether there is any language in Jackson’s contract that would render it null and void if a situation like this were to arise. At this point, there are more questions than answers but it is not the news the Chargers wanted to hear today.

JC Jackson has overall been a disappointment for the Los Angeles Chargers and this situation doesn’t help. Stay tuned for more details as the situation unfolds.
