The shocking murder of two Israeli diplomats in Washington D.C. last night has led to an outpouring of support and calls to end antisemitism. Among the many organizations addressing the killing are the Washington Commanders.
In a statement, the Commanders said that they were "deeply saddened" by the murder of Israeli diplomats Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim. The NFL team condemned antisemitism and offered its thoughts and prayers to the victims' families.
"We are deeply saddened by the tragic murders of two young Israeli diplomats outside the Capital Jewish Museum last night. Antisemitism and hate have no place in our city and society, and we join the entire DMV in offering our thoughts and prayers to the families of Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim. May their memories be a blessing," the team said.

Plenty of fans of the organization have come out to offer their own thoughts and prayers to the victims.
"There's no words. Our collective hearts are broken. May their memories forever be blessing and my deepest condolences to victims families and friends," one fan replied.
"Lord, WE PRAY AND DECREE Help the families of Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim be FULL RESTORED! Lord WE Pray and Decree they KNOW YOU and remember the Verse Matthew 5:4: 'Blessed are those who mourn for they shall be comforted,'” another wrote.
"This (expletive) has to stop! We can never get better without being better as people!"
The shooting occurred as the two diplomats were leaving an event at the museum on Wednesday. Authorities arrived at the scene to find the two unconscious and not breathing. Life-saving efforts were made by the first responders but they were pronounced dead at the scene.
Lischinsky and Milgrim were preparing to be engaged to be married.
Washington mayor Muriel Bowser has condemned the killing and said that the city would not tolerate acts of terrorism of antisemitism.
"We will not tolerate any acts of terrorism," Bowser said last night. "We will not tolerate antisemitism."
United Nations Secretary General Antonio Guterres has similarly condemned the attack and offered his own sympathies to the victims and the Israeli government.
"I condemn the appalling killing last night of two Israeli Embassy officials in Washington, D.C. Nothing can justify such a horrific act. I reiterate my consistent condemnation of attacks against diplomatic officials. I call for the perpetrator to be brought to justice. I extend my sympathies to the families and loved ones of the victims and to the Government of Israel," Guterres said in a statement.
Our hearts go out to the victims and their loved ones.
