It looks like the Washington Football Team will have to wait even longer to get Montez Sweat back on the field, as the defensive end has entered the NFL's COVID protocol after previously missing time due to an injured jaw.
WFT pass rusher Montez Sweat, who missed the past four games with a fractured jaw and was expected to return to practice today, tested positive for COVID, per source. Sweat now is expected to be out the next 10 days, which likely will sideline him two more games.

While league rules stipulate Sweat's vaccination status should not be disclosed publicly, multiple reports have stated he remains unvaccinated following an offseason in which he was vocally against it.
On Wednesday, DE Montez Sweat reportedly said he doesn't support the Washington Football Team’s attempt to persuade its players to get vaccinated against COVID-19.

Sweat ranks second on the team with four sacks this season and was expected to return to practice this week. Now, WFT won't have his help in the coming week with a big matchup against the Dallas Cowboys.
Sweat could potentially be available for the following game against the Philadelphia Eagles, although that remains to be seen.
Montez Sweat isn’t vaccinated so he’s out 10 days. Eligible to come off the list next Saturday ahead of the next day’s game against the #Eagles. https://t.co/lkBiochN4H
