Washington solicits season ticket holder input on potential new names

The Washington Football Team recently asked season-ticket holders for their opinions as the club continues to consider a name change.

Fans were shown several names from a larger pool and told to pick their preferred choices. The Redtails, Warriors, Rubies, Redwolves, Pilots and Griffins were among the options.

Washington will keep the Football Team name for the 2021 season but has to begin considering a name change now in order to prepare for the 2022 campaign and beyond. It's unclear which names are more popular among fans.

The franchise retired its old name and logo, which was held for 82 years, before the 2020 season after years of controversy and pushback from Native American groups.
