Justin Fields and the Chicago Bears offense didn't take long to produce fireworks in their preseason opener.
The Bears scored two quick touchdowns against the Titans. The first came on a Fields pass to D.J. Moore behind the line of scrimmage that the 2023 trade acquisition turned into a 62-yard touchdown.

The Bears traded the No. 1 overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft to the Carolina Panthers for Moore and four draft picks. With Fields showing signs last season of being a potential franchise quarterback, it made sense to turn one draft pick into several valuable assets, with Moore, in particular, a tantalizing weapon to pair with Chicago's young quarterback.
That would have been enough excitement for one preseason game, but Chicago's starters weren't done. Not even close.
On the next series, Fields avoided pressure and connected with Khalil Herbert on another short pass the running back turned into a 56-yard touchdown.

Fields finished a pristine 3-of-3 for 129 yards and two touchdowns. A pretty good day at the office.

Earlier this offseason, Fields turned heads by declaring he'd throw for 4,000 yards this season. The Bears are the only active NFL franchise without a 4,000-yard passer, and Fields' career high in passing yards was 2,242 last season.
He might have been on to something, however. Fields didn't have to do much to rack up those yards against the Titans. He simply got the ball out to his playmakers and they did the rest.
If the offense keeps it up, they'll change the perception of the Bears in a hurry. Almost as quickly as they scored on Saturday.
