Watch: Browns RB Jerome Ford runs for 66 yards vs. Bengals

Cleveland Browns running back Nick Chubb's future seems murky, especially if backup Jerome Ford continues to show why he could be a starter.

In Sunday's road game against the Cincinnati Bengals, Ford burst into the open field for 66 yards on the Browns' first play. Cleveland didn't capitalize on the explosive run, as backup RB D'Onta Foreman fumbled at Cincinnati's one-yard line.

Regardless, the play shows why Ford could give the Browns something to consider. Through his first 12 games, the third-year RB rushed for 451 yards and two TDs on 87 carries.

Chubb, meanwhile, has battled injuries over the past two seasons. He suffered a season-ending knee injury in 2023 and was recently placed on injured reserve after breaking his foot. In eight games this season, Chubb had 332 yards and three TDs on 102 carries.

The four-time Pro Bowler is set to become an unrestricted free agent in 2025. The Athletic's Zac Jackson recently noted the Browns will probably be rebuilding next season, meaning it wouldn't be shocking if Chubb signs elsewhere.
