Watch: Christian McCaffrey scores for the 12th straight game, tying 49ers mark

Only 17 games into his San Francisco 49ers career, star running back Christian McCaffrey has already tied a franchise record.

McCaffrey equaled Hall of Famer Jerry Rice, scoring for the 12th straight game late in the first half of the 49ers' matchup with the New York Giants on "Thursday Night Football." With 1:51 left in the second quarter, McCaffrey matched Rice, rushing up the middle for a four-yard touchdown.

Rice played 12 games in 1987, missing four contests due to the player strike. However, Rice scored in each game, ending the regular season with 23 total touchdowns (22 receiving) and 1,078 receiving yards to finish second in MVP voting.

McCaffrey's streak, including three playoff games, goes back to Week 13 of last season. Over that stretch, McCaffrey has scored 13 touchdowns, nine on the ground and four through the air.

He can have the record all to himself by finding a way into the endzone next Sunday when the 49ers host the Arizona Cardinals.
