Derrick Henry’s future with the Tennessee Titans has been highly debated since before the NFL trade deadline, but now it seems there’s finally clarity on the situation.
After the Titans upset the Jacksonville Jaguars 28-20 Sunday at Nissan Stadium, keeping them out of the playoffs and from reaching double-digit wins for the second time since 2008, Henry grabbed a microphone on his way to the locker room and delivered what appeared to be a heartfelt goodbye message in which he thanked fans for "the greatest eight years” of his life.

In what was likely his final game at Nissan Stadium as a Titan, Henry rushed 19 times for 153 yards and a touchdown. It was the fourth time he has rushed for 100 or more yards this season and the fifth time in the last six years that he has rushed for 1,000 or more yards.
The 30-year-old running back set a few notable career milestones in the win. He passed former Oilers great Earl Campbell and former Seahawks star Shaun Alexander on the NFL’s all-time rushing list (9,502 yards).
In addition, with his 12th rushing touchdown of the season, Henry tied Eric Dickerson and Curtis Martin for the 13th-most rushing touchdowns in NFL history. He also became the sixth player in league history with five seasons of 12 or more rushing TDs, joining Alexander, Jim Brown, Emmitt Smith, LaDainian Tomlinson and Adrian Peterson.
Henry ends the season with 1,167 yards rushing this season – second-most in the league behind San Francisco’s Christian McCaffrey at the time of publication.
If Sunday was his final game with Tennessee, Henry put together one of the best eight-year runs in league history, one in which he rushed for 9,502 yards and 90 touchdowns on 2,030 carries. Henry holds franchise records for rushing touchdowns and 100-yard rushing games (41) and he has the second-most rushing yards in team history behind Eddie George.
