Philadelphia Eagles‘ Super Bowl dream once again went down the hill as they suffered a humiliating loss of 9-32 against conference rivals Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the playoffs. It was truly a rough night for Philly, who led the regular season with a 10-1 record until week 12 as hardly anything worked in their favor.
Apart from the tension on the field for the Eagles, the sideline bench didn’t appear any better. The tension between Philly’s tight end and quarterback unfolded as Dallas Goedert was spotted having a heated ‘one-sided’ exchange with a silent Jalen Hurts.
As the matter seemed to escalate further, backup quarter Marcus Mariota tried resolving the matter by acting as a pacifier, however, the frustrated Goedert wasn’t in the state to listen to anything so he walked away.

The Eagles’ blowout loss at the playoff might have been foreseen by many, considering the poor stretch they went by in the final few weeks of the regular season. Though Philly made the postseason with 11-6 — a record many teams dream of, it didn’t appear the same for the Eagles.
The team lost five out of their last six matches before the final shutdown by the hands of Baker Mayfield-led Buccaneers. This makes Goedert’s sideline frustration seem somewhat reasonable, though not justified, as the Eagles were ready for this crucial playoff game. The TE completed the playoff game with just 21 receiving yards on four catches.
Quarterback Hurts had an adequate season in 2023 with only a few stats dropped, in comparison to last season. Though he struggled to pass the ball in right downs on the field, in recent few games.
Nonetheless, Hurts recorded his career-high stats this season with 3,858 passing yards along with 23 passing touchdowns and 15 interceptions. These stats prove the ability of Hurts as he led the Eagles to another playoff berth as starting QB.
As for the Monday night game, the quarterback hasn’t had enough built-in answers from the schemes, so he can’t be blamed alone for the team’s loss. He made some passes and also tried to bring the Eagles into the lead, but unfortunately ended up on the sideline bench as Mariota covered for him.
