In a week that saw Pete Carroll and the Seattle Seahawks go their separate ways only to be outdone by legendary Alabama head coach Nick Saban retiring, the somewhat foregone conclusion that Bill Belichick and the New England Patriots were headed for a split could almost be seen as "third fiddle" news.
There have been rumors for months that Patriots owner Robert Kraft was ready to move on from the head coach who gave his organization 24 legendary seasons and six Super Bowl wins.
Those rumors came true on Thursday with the news that the Patriots and Belichick were breaking up:

While the news was perhaps not as shocking as, say, Saban's retirement, it still hit the NFL world like a ton of bricks.
It hit so hard, in fact, that former Patriots defensive end Chandler Jones could only sing about it.

Jones' "new single" seems to be sung to the accompaniment of "Tennessee Whiskey," by country music superstar Chris Stapleton.
Some notable lines from the ballad include:
"You didn't flatten that ball. It was Tom Brady. You didn't spygate, you didn't deflategate. He's innocent. So why fire him, when it should have been Mr. Kraft?"
Art is all around us.
