Watch: Gardner Minshew shockingly wasn’t checked for concussion after a nasty hit during the Colts-Bengals game
Joseph Maiorana-USA TODAY Sports

The Cincinnati Bengals and the Indianapolis Colts are playing each other in their week 14 matchup. The Bengals, led by QB Jake Browning will enter the game with a 6-6 record, whereas the Colts are 7-5 and have been playing some good football. Both teams have lost their starting QB for the season. Colts’ rookie Anthony Richardson and Bengals starter Joe Burrow have been sidelined for the remainder of the season due to injuries.

The Bengals came into the season with Super Bowl aspirations, however, they have had a difficult season so far. On the other hand, the Colts have been hit with the injury bug, especially to their QBs this season. They are playing with veteran QB Gardner Minshew as their starting QB and the quarterback is trying his very best to lead the Colts to a playoff spot.

In the second quarter of the Colts’ game against the Bengals, Minshew rushed for a first down on 3rd and 6 with just over 6 minutes left in the game. The Bengals’ defensemen tackled the QB on the first down marker. Bengals’ linebacker Logan Wilson delivered a hard hit on Minshew and brought him down. After the hit, Minshew looked in discomfort, however, surprisingly, the medical staff of the Colts’ did not check their QB for a concussion and the game continued as normal.

The Bengals are currently leading the game 28-14 with 12 minutes to go in the game. The Colts came into the game with a four-game winning streak whereas the Bengals won their last game against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Monday Night Football.

Gardner Minshew talked about the Colts’ fourth successive win last Sunday

The Indianapolis Colts won their last game against the Tennessee Titans by three points. That was their fourth win in a row and they have now improved to 7-5 for the season. Their QB Gardner Minshew talked about the Colts’ win and their streak after the game.

Minshew told CBS Sports following the Colts’ win:

We're very gritty. We're gonna find a way. It's not always gonna be sexy, but dang, it's good. Gardner Minshew told CBS Sports

He finished the game with 312 yards and 2 touchdowns while completing 26 of his 42 pass attempts.

Minshew replaced the Colts’ starting QB Anthony Richardson after he went down with a season-ending injury. Since becoming the Colts’ starter, Minshew has been great and has led the team on a four-game winning streak. Minshew’s best performance came last week against the Titans and he will hope to continue his good form in the later stages of the season.
