Watch: Jaguars QB escapes sack for improbable touchdown, play of the preseason

The NFL preseason is only in its first week but it is difficult to imagine anybody making a more impressive play than Jacksonville Jaguars quarterback Nathan Rourke.

Rourke, a former standout in the CFL, got his first taste of NFL action on Saturday night against the Dallas Cowboys and pulled this unbelievable Houdini act to escape what looked to be a certain sack and complete a pass to running back Qadree Ollison for a touchdown.

This play has to be seen to be believed.

That is incredible and very Patrick Mahomes-like.

There were four different Cowboys defenders that had a chance to bring him down, including three that absolutely should have. None of them could.

That touchdown would prove to be the difference in the Jaguars' 28-23 win.

Rourke signed a three-year contract with the Jaguars in January after playing in the CFL for the past two years. His 2022 season was a breakout campaign as he completed an incredible 78.7 percent of his passes 3,349 yards, 25 touchdowns and 10 interceptions in 10 games for the B.C. Lions.

The Jaguars are already set at quarterback with Trevor Lawrence as their franchise quarterback, but Rourke can definitely make a strong case for the top backup spot. Plays like that will certainly help him. Conversely, plays like that are bad news for the Dallas defenders that are trying to make its roster.

Rourke finished the game completing 9-of-17 passes for 153 yards and the touchdown.
