Watch: Legend makes Tom Brady prediction about future career

Sports radio legend Mike Francesa doesn't believe Tom Brady will find as much success inside Fox Sports television booths as he did on football fields over the past two decades.

"It takes a certain personality and a certain mindset to be good as an analyst. I don’t think he’s gonna be a great analyst. I don't," Francesa said about Brady during Wednesday's episode of the ESPN "First Take" program, as shared by Brandon Contes of Awful Announcing. "He is not going to be bombastic. I don’t think he’s got an oversized personality outside of being Tom Brady. I think he will find other things he likes more than announcing. I just don’t see that connection."

Speaking hours after Brady announced on Wednesday morning he was retiring as an active player "for good," Francesa suggested that the seven-time Super Bowl champion lacks a special something that "catches with the audience" had by commentators such as John Madden and Tony Romo.

Francesa seemingly didn't notice Romo's alleged regression this season.

Brady's 10-year deal reportedly worth $375 million to serve as Fox's lead NFL analyst presumably can begin at any time. Fox apparently had no plans for Brady to work its Super Bowl LVII coverage on Feb. 12 as of early Wednesday afternoon, but it's possible the 45-year-old could appear as a pre-game studio analyst before Kevin Burkhardt and Greg Olsen call the contest live from State Farm Stadium, home of the Arizona Cardinals.

Last May, Hall-of-Famer-turned-broadcaster Kurt Warner remarked that Brady can't be afraid of offending current players or possibly making enemies early into his second career. During this week's edition of the "Let's Go!" SiriusXM show and podcast, Brady explained that he will have a "very black and white" way of breaking things down inside the booth.

Francesa admitted back in February 2008 he had been an "enormous" Brady fan for years at that time. On Wednesday, the former "Mike and the Mad Dog" host generated headlines when he said he doesn't view TB12 as the greatest regular-season or Super Bowl quarterback in NFL history.

Feelings about Francesa's flaming-hot take, aside, he ultimately may be proven right about Brady the broadcaster unless the twice-retired player never calls a single game for Fox.
