Watch: Matt Milano Gets 1st INT of Season vs. Jets
Tina MacIntyre-Yee/Rochester Democrat and Chronicle / USA TODAY NETWORK

Life became much harder for the New York Jets' offense early in Monday's matchup with the Buffalo Bills when star quarterback Aaron Rodgers left the game with an ankle injury on their first drive.

Rodgers' injury forced Zach Wilson, the No. 2 pick in the 2021 NFL Draft who has had a rough career to this point, into action. The Bills were able to take advantage of the change in quarterback, with all-pro linebacker Matt Milano picking off Wilson in the second quarter for the Bills' first turnover of the year.

Milano was in perfect position to make the play, and tricked Wilson into throwing it straight to him. After returning the ball to the Jets' 35-yard line, Milano gave the Bills the chance to kick a field goal and extend their lead heading into the locker room.

Milano has had a knack for forcing turnovers throughout his career, with eight interceptions and two forced fumbles in six seasons. Last year, he tied his career-high with three interceptions, including his first-ever pick six.

Throughout his time with the Bills, Milano has emerged as the heart and soul of the defense. Last season was his best yet, as he recorded a career-high 72 solo tackles and earned his first Pro Bowl and all-pro selections. He has picked up right where he left off in this game, with four total tackles, a pass defended and a quarterback hit in the first half, plus the interception.

The Bills lead the Jets 13-3 heading into halftime, although they'll be on defense to start the second half.
