When arguing over which division is the toughest in the NFL, it mostly comes down to the NFC North against the NFC West. The North currently has the most wins with the Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, Detroit Lions and Minnesota Vikings all having at least five. However, the West features three teams in the Los Angeles Rams, San Francisco 49ers and defending champion Seattle Seahawks that many would place as the more serious title contenders.

It is an interesting argument to be had and is one that came to fruition on the St. Brown Podcast as Rams safety Quentin Lake and Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown went back and forth on why their respective divisions was superior:

Both players made some fair points in their arguments. Lake is right in that the Vikings defense has been the best in the NFL, but their offense is one of the worst and needs to improve while both the Packers and Lions have been extremely inconsistent this season and seem unlikely to be able to make a true run to the Super Bowl.

However, St. Brown was fair to point out that if all the NFC North teams are fluky as Lake said, then what does that make the Rams who are just 4-4 and have only one win over a team .500 or better in the Las Vegas Raiders. While the Rams may be rounding into form, they have been far from the Super Bowl favorite they were believed to be when the season began.

The good part is that all of this will be settled in due time as the postseason will answer all of those questions. Unfortunately, the Rams don’t play the Lions this season so Lake and St. Brown won’t see each other on the field unless they meet in the playoffs, but the Rams do face the Packers on Thanksgiving Eve and perhaps the loser of that game will indeed be ‘fluky’ as Lake likes to say.

Rams’ star Myles Garrett expected to return vs. Commanders

One thing that will definitely help the Rams rise back into one of the top teams in the NFL is the return of star defensive end Myles Garrett, who is expected to be back on the field when they take on the Washington Commanders.
