Watch: Raiders lose Monday night's game when receivers Davante Adams and Hunter Renfrow collide

The Oakland Raiders' last chance to pull off a road win against the Kansas City Chiefs went up in smoke when receivers Davante Adams and Hunter Renfrow collided on a fourth-and-one play.

Trailing 30-29, the Raiders attempted to get into position for a game-winning field goal. Quarterback Derek Carr's heave downfield landed far out of range of his star receivers. With both players laid out on the turf, it appeared watching live as though the Chiefs had committed pass interference and the Raiders' drive would continue.

The replay told the true story, and it's one that sums up the 2022 season for the Raiders through five games.

Renfroe ran directly into Adams as the two made their way upfield, causing the two players to tumble to the ground.

The Raiders appear to have enough pieces to be successful; look closer and the ways the team gets in their own way reveal themselves.

A holding penalty by Raiders linebacker Malcolm Koonce on a missed field goal in the fourth quarter extended a Chiefs drive that eventually led to six points. Then, with a chance to tie the game at 30, head coach Josh McDaniels elected to attempt a two-point conversion despite four minutes remaining in regulation.

With the loss, the Raiders dropped to 1-4 and last in the AFC West. All four of their losses have been by six or fewer points.

The team gets a bye week in Week 6 before returning to action in Week 7 against the Houston Texans.
