Watch: Ravens Take Lead On Likely TD
Jessica Rapfogel-USA TODAY Sports

The Baltimore Ravens pulled ahead of the Los Angeles Rams just before the end of the first quarter on a huge connection between tight end Isaiah Likely and star quarterback Lamar Jackson.

On first down from the Ravens' own 46-yard line, Jackson dropped back in a clean pocket before firing a dart down the left sideline to a wide open Likely who secured the catch before delivering a nasty stiff-arm to a defender on his way into the end zone.

After the touchdown, Baltimore took a 7-3 lead over the Rams as time in the first quarter dwindled away. Likely finished the quarter with two catches for 61 yards and a touchdown.

The 54-yard touchdown was the longest reception of Likely's young career as well as his first touchdown of the season. He now has recorded 15 receptions for 190 yards and a touchdown on the year as of the end of the first quarter.

Likely's role has expanded in the last two weeks after star tight end Mark Andrews suffered an ankle injury that has forced him to miss the rest of the regular season.

The Ravens drafted Likely in the fourth round of the 2022 NFL Draft out of Coastal Carolina, where he made a name for himself putting up 27 touchdowns in four seasons including 12 in his senior year.

The 23-year-old tight end has shown a lot of talent in limited time, putting up 36 catches for 373 yards and three touchdowns during his rookie season.
