Hundreds of fans at Lake Tahoe, Nevada, witnessed something incredible: an impromptu bout between George Kittle and The Miz. As for fans back home, they must give a shout-out to the NBC Sports camera crew. They are the ones who were at the right place at the right time to film the showmanship.
Kittle might have said something (or was it scripted?). The details aren’t clear, but the former WWE Champion seemed ticked off by something. The WWE superstar pushed the San Francisco 49ers All-Pro tight end, wearing a pink t-shirt, blue jeans, and white shoes.
They walked away from one another for a brief moment. The Miz tried to soak all the energy in from the charged environment around him as if he were back at the 2024 edition of SummerSlam. However, while he was basking in his glory, the 44-year-old did not anticipate the impending doom that waited right behind him.
Kittle squatted down and prepared himself for retribution. After slowly closing down the distance, Kittle unleashed a textbook superkick, reminiscent of the golden days of D-Generation X. The NBC Sports admin cheekily added Shawn Michaels‘ iconic ‘Sweet Chin Music’ finisher call by Michael Cole to make the moment more memorable.

Kittle went to check on his prey. He hunched down, gave The Miz’s ribs a hearty pat, and threw something away (the golf ball?). It wasn’t over. One must follow up the sweet chin music with another legendary pop culture move, popularized by Ric Flair and Kenta Kobashi —the chop. A humbling experience for the WWE star, but for Kittle, it may turn out to be a good promotion for his life post-NFL.
At 31, Kittle still has ample time left in the NFL. His good friend Travis Kelce is going strong at 35, and if fans entertain rumors, then the 3x Super Bowl winner might extend his career beyond 36.
However, even an optimist like Kittle knows that nothing is set in stone in football. So, keeping that in mind, he has already thought about life after retirement.
I would love to do WWE. I think there’s definitely opportunity within that world, and I would love nothing more than to be a part of it.
George Kittle said on the Bussin With the Boys podcast
This does not indicate that he will walk away after just one more year. His aspirations of becoming a Super Bowl champion remain unattained, and until he achieves that goal or his body becomes physically incapable of wearing pads, Kittle will keep on playing football.
For now, he is the second-best tight end in the league, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler.
Kittle is aging well. He’s coming off back-to-back 1,000-yard seasons with a combined 14 touchdowns during that two-year span. Fifty of his 78 catches last season went for a first down. His premier blocking remains unmatched, and he’s still tough to bring down, leading all tight ends with 14.2 yards per catch.
