Watch: Three-time Super Bowl champion names Tom Brady 'world's greatest American'

Three-time Super Bowl champion Mark Schlereth has shared an interesting new description for Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady.

"And that’s the world’s greatest American by the way," Schlereth said of Brady during Tuesday's edition of the FS1 program "The Carton Show," as shared by Ryan Gaydos of Fox News. "I don’t call him Tom Brady. He’s the world’s greatest American."

Schlereth was speaking after Brady guided the Buccaneers to a remarkable 17-16 comeback win over the New Orleans Saints that featured the 45-year-old throwing two touchdown passes in the game's final three minutes on Monday night:

Host Craig Carton added that Brady is the "best dad, best husband, best quarterback, best everything," possibly in reference to the fact that the seven-time Super Bowl champion signal-caller and Gisele Bündchen confirmed their divorce after 13 years of marriage on Oct. 28.

Since that time, Brady and the first-place Buccaneers have gone 3-1 to improve to 6-6 heading into this Sunday's game at the 8-4 San Francisco 49ers.

"Here’s the great thing about Tampa. You can win your division playing six minutes of football," Schlereth said about a Buccaneers team fortunate to be part of the lackluster NFC South this fall. "That’s all they need to do. So, how fresh are they gonna be come playoff time?"

Brady continues to produce a solid campaign despite Tampa Bay's on-the-field offensive struggles and what are now known to be off-the-field issues hovering over him since before Week 1.

Per ESPN stats, he began Tuesday 16th among qualified quarterbacks with a 91.6 passer rating, 20th with a 52.2 total QBR, and fifth with 3,332 passing yards this season.

In 12 games, Brady has thrown 16 touchdown passes and just three interceptions.
