It seemed like it was just a matter of time before Tennessee Titans quarterback Will Levis connected with prized free-agent addition Calvin Ridley on a long touchdown pass.
Ridley had only three receptions for 50 yards (with a long of 22 yards) in Tennessee’s season-opening loss to the Chicago Bears last week, but he finally flashed the big-play potential the Titans signed him for in Sunday’s matchup with the New York Jets at Nissan Stadium.
On second-and-9 just across midfield with 3:26 left in the third quarter, Ridley sprinted down the right sideline a step ahead of Jets All-Pro cornerback Sauce Gardner. Levis stepped up in the pocket and uncorked a perfectly placed pass in his direction for a 40-yard touchdown.

Levis placed the ball where only Ridley could get it, just out of the reach of Gardner and Jets safety Chuck Clark. The touchdown tied the game 17-17 after the Titans allowed 10 unanswered New York points to squander their halftime lead.
It marked the second touchdown of the season for Levis and it was Ridley’s first touchdown grab since he scored a 59-yard touchdown in last year’s season finale against the Titans when he was a member of the Jacksonville Jaguars.
