Following every NFL game in 2025, Steel City Underground parses the best plays from the Pittsburgh Steelers to highlight for Steelers Nation fans to rewatch, complete with what led up to the big play(s).
One thing that the Pittsburgh Steelers benefitted from in their Week 15 game of the 2025 NFL regular season was having multiple receiving targets on the offense despite the Steelers’ balanced approach on that side of the ball. One pass from Aaron Rodgers to former Green Bay Packers teammate Marquez Valdes-Scantling paid off in primetime on Monday Night Football on ESPN.
Although Rodgers has been with Pittsburgh all season, Valdes-Scantling signed with the Steelers (practice squad) on November 4. For the Monday night game at Acrisure Stadium, the receiver was elevated to the active roster… and very well may remain on it for the rest of the season.
Ahead 7-3 at halftime, the Steelers received the kickoff to open the second half of the game. Both teams’ offenses had been locked into a defensive battle. On the first play of a 6-play, 71-yard drive to begin the third quarter, Rodgers handed the ball off to Jaylen Warren for three carries.
On 1st & 10 at the PIT 40, Kenneth Gainwell hit the right tackle gap and rumbled downfield for a 38-yard run. He then added 3 more yards on the following play.
On 2nd & 7 at the MIA 19, Rodgers took the snap and hit Valdes-Scantling in stride deep left for the veteran receiver’s first touchdown with the Steelers.

The Steelers went on to win, 28-15, eliminating the Dolphins from playoff contention and took another win to stave-off the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC North divisional race.
