Way Too Early All-Pro Predictions For The Browns

Over the last three seasons, the Browns have a decent track record with All-Pro talent.

In each of those seasons, at least three or more Browns have been named to one of the NFL’s best individual honors.

In 2019, it was Joel Bitonio, Myles Garrett, Jarvis Landry, and Denzel Ward.

2020 saw Nick Chubb join Bitonio and Landry.

And last year, it was Bitonio, Garrett, and Chubb selected.

And while we’re in the dog days of summer, it’s time to take a peek at next year’s potential crop of Browns All-Pros.

Let’s break down the candidates on both sides of the ball:

Offense

Nick Chubb seems like an obvious call here, for several reasons.

First, Chubb has been nothing short of excellent for Cleveland since his coming-out sophomore season.

Since then, Chubb is averaging over five yards per rush (5.3) with 29 touchdowns to his name.

Oh, and he takes care of the ball: he’s surrendered just six fumbles in his last three seasons.

But the second reason Chubb will likely see another All-Pro nod is the situation under center.

The Browns traded for Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson back in March, despite the fact that Watson faced two-dozen allegations of sexual misconduct.

Now, with Watson’s disciplinary hearing in the books, the Browns must wait to see how much of the field Watson will be allowed to see in 2022-23.

The NFL (rightfully) pushed for an indefinite suspension to last no less than one year.

And if backup Jacoby Brissett is taking snaps, expect him to lean heavily on Cleveland’s excellent run game, led by Chubb.

Joel Bitonio is a tempting addition, simply because of his history of winning the honor.

But might we see something of a passing of the torch in 2022-23?

Wyatt Teller was named Second-Team All-Pro last season, after a stellar campaign.

The 27-year-old is hitting the prime of his career and the future of the Browns’ offensive line, a unit ranked 2nd by PFF.

Other names: Amari Cooper, David Njoku

Defense

The beginning of this conversation begins with one name, so let me waste no more time: Myles Garrett.

Over the last two years, Garrett has done everything and more to justify his no. 1 overall selection in 2017.

Between 2020 and 2022, The Texas A&M stud has put up 28 sacks, mustered 51 quarterback hits, and tallied 99 tackles.

PFF rated Garrett as the second-best edge rusher in football, behind only Pittsburgh’s electric TJ Watt.

Any season that Garrett sees action, he’s a defensive player of the year candidate, full stop.

And next season should be no different.

Cleveland’s backfield is capable of seeing at least one, if not two All-Pro selections next season as well.

Denzel Ward and Greg Newsome will compete for picks, and Grant Delpit could be in line for a big season.

But one name to keep in mind might be Jeremiah Owusu-Koroamoah, who is entering his sophomore season.

JOK is primed for a breakout year after his 76 tackles and 1.5 sacks last year.

He might not ever reach the peaks of Dallas’ Micah Parsons, but he’s a fringe candidate if he puts everything together next year.
