The weather forecast for Sunday’s NFL matchup between the Buffalo Bills and the Philadelphia Eagles is drawing serious concern.
According to detailed projections, conditions could heavily impact how the game is played. Rain is expected to be intense, with the possibility of flooding near game time. That creates uncertainty for both offenses and special teams units.
Kevin Roth, Chief Meteorologist at RotoGrinders, flagged the game as a major weather risk.
"I'm increasingly thinking that it absolutely pours all game," Roth said. "The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch from 1PM Sunday through Monday afternoon, and while that doesn't necessarilly mean the heaviest of the rain comes in-game, it does tell us something about the nature of the rain (very, very heavy).
"High-res models DO show some of the heaviest of that rain during game-time. That's not set in stone more than 24 hours ahead of gametime as I write this, but it looks likely as there is good model agreement. That's an issue for offense and special teams."
On the field, both teams enter with strong records and playoff spots secured.

Buffalo comes in at 11-4 and continues to lean on a dominant offense. The Bills average 28.9 points per game and rank first in rushing yards. James Cook leads the league with 1,532 rushing yards and has been central to their success.
Philadelphia sits at 10-5 and relies more on balance and defense. The Eagles allow just 19.3 points per game and have stayed consistent in tight contests. Saquon Barkley anchors their ground attack and has found form late in the season.
If the rain falls as expected, the game could tilt toward the run. Buffalo has already allowed over 150 rushing yards seven times this season. With footing uncertain and passing risky, tempo control may decide this one.
The weather could end up being the biggest factor on Sunday.
