Week 16 of the NFL Season is in the books, which means the Fantasy Football Championship Week has arrived. Here are the Week 17 quarterback rankings for fantasy football. Note that there are three games on Christmas Day (Thursday) and two games on Saturday. The important injuries to note are Marcus Mariota, Lamar Jackson, and Jordan Love, who are all questionable.

Quarterback Rankings Week 17 Fantasy Football

Tier 1: The Big 5

Rank Player Opponent
1 Dak Prescott Washington Commanders
2 Joe Burrow Arizona Cardinals
3 Josh Allen Philadelphia Eagles
4 Jalen Hurts Buffalo Bills
5 Matthew Stafford Atlanta Falcons

This top tier of quarterbacks is the best of the best in fantasy football:

  • Prescott gets a dream matchup against the bad Commanders secondary to open up the Christmas triple header. Prescott is the overall QB1 in the Week 17 quarterback rankings.
  • Burrow put on a show against the Dolphins, scoring 28.96 fantasy points. He threw for over 300 passing yards and four passing touchdowns. He gets a great matchup against the Cardinals and comes in as the QB2 in the rankings.
  • Allen and Hurts face each other in a battle between two of the top teams in the league. Allen is coming off his worst game of the season, only scoring 6.9 fantasy points, because the Bills scored all three of their touchdowns on the ground. The Bills will need Allen to score if they want to beat Hurts and the Eagles.
  • Stafford was incredible in the Rams overtime loss to the Seahawks, throwing for 457 yards and three touchdowns. Only Allen has scored more fantasy points than Stafford at the quarterback position. Stafford has another plus matchup against the Falcons to close out Week 17 on Monday Night Football.

Tier 2: Low-End QB1s

Rank Player Opponent
6 Jacoby Brissett Cincinnati Bengals
7 Trevor Lawrence Indianapolis Colts
8 Drake Maye New York Jets
9 Marcus Mariota* Dallas Cowboys
10 Lamar Jackson* Green Bay Packers

These guys are low-end QB1s, and I feel comfortable starting any of them as my QB1 this week:

  • Brissett had his first bad game since taking over as the starting quarterback for the Cardinals, only scoring 10.62 fantasy points, marking the first time he has finished outside of the top twelve quarterbacks in a week in his tenth game as a starter. Brissett will bounce back against the Bengals in what should be a high-scoring shoot-out.
  • Lawrence has back-to-back games as the overall QB1 on the week and is now the QB4 on the season. He is on a heater, finishing as a top-seven quarterback in four of the last five weeks. He will look to continue this success against the Colts in Week 17.
  • In Week 16 on Sunday Night Football, Maye had his best game since Week 8, scoring over 23 fantasy points. Maye is right there in the MVP consideration and should have another great performance against the Jets.
  • Mariota has been struggling and is day-to-day with an injury, but he gets a dream matchup against the Cowboys, so he ranks in the top ten of the Week 17 quarterback rankings.

Tier 3: High-End QB2s

Rank Player Opponent
11 Jared Goff Minnesota Vikings
12 Brock Purdy Chicago Bears
13 Caleb Williams San Francisco 49ers
14 Baker Mayfield Miami Dolphins
15 Jaxson Dart Las Vegas Raiders
16 Sam Darnold Carolina Panthers

This tier consists of the high-end QB2s:

  • Goff and the Lions are fighting for their playoff lives as they take on the Vikings on Christmas afternoon. Goff has been playing great, while the run game is struggling. Goff has finished as a top-ten quarterback in four of the last five weeks. Minnesota is a tougher matchup, so there is a slight downgrade this week for Goff.
  • Williams led the Bears to a crazy overtime victory over the Packers and is now just one win away from winning the NFC North. The Bears take on an injury-rattled 49ers defense on Sunday Night Football, making Williams a solid QB2 option.
  • Dart had one pass attempt in the first quarter, as the Giants are playing very conservatively, trying to prevent Dart from another injury. He only threw 13 total passes, completing seven of them for 33 yards, and throwing an interception. He only had two rushes for seven yards. Dart finished with a meager 0.02 fantasy points. Dart gets a great matchup against the Raiders, but expect another conservative play-calling game from the Giants.

Tier 4: Superflex Options Only

Rank Player Opponent
17 Jordan Love* Baltimore Ravens
18 C.J. Stroud Los Angeles Chargers
19 Bo Nix Kansas City Chiefs
20 Justin Herbert Houston Texans
21 Tyler Shough Tennessee Titans
22 Bryce Young Seattle Seahawks
23 Aaron Rodgers Cleveland Browns
24 Shedeur Sanders Pittsburgh Steelers

These players are options only in very deep leagues or SuperFlex leagues:

  • Love and the Packers need one more win to clinch a playoff berth (and eliminate the Lions in the process), but Love will have to clear concussion protocol ahead of the Saturday night game in order to play.
  • Herbert had his best game of the season, scoring over 30 fantasy points against the Cowboys defense. However, he gets to face the tough Texans defense on Saturday afternoon, making Herbert a fade this week. The Chargers OL will not be able to handle the Texans elite pass rush.
