Week 8 of the NFL Season is “Bye-mageddon” with six teams on bye. Here are the Week 8 wide receiver rankings for fantasy football. The notable wide receivers on bye this week are Puka Nacua, Amon-Ra St. Brown, Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Davante Adams, Marvin Harrison Jr., Brian Thomas Jr., Travis Hunter, Jameson Williams, Jakobi Meyers, and Tre Tucker.

Fantasy Football Wide Receiver Rankings Week 8

Tier 1: Superstar WR1s

Rank Player Opponent
1 Ja’Marr Chase New York Jets
2 Justin Jefferson Los Angeles Chargers
3 CeeDee Lamb Denver Broncos
4 Nico Collins* San Francisco 49ers
5 Rashee Rice Washington Commanders
6 Drake London Miami Dolphins
7 Emeka Egbuka New Orleans Saints
8 Chris Olave Tampa Bay Buccaneers
9 Courtland Sutton Dallas Cowboys
10 Rome Odunze Baltimore Ravens

There is a familiar name at the top of the wide receiver rankings, with a ton of the top guys on bye in Week 8:

  • Chase has been spectacular with Joe Flacco at quarterback, having back-to-back weeks as a top-five fantasy wide receiver. He scored over 38 fantasy points in Week 7 as he caught 16 of 23 targets for 161 yards and a touchdown. Chase would have had a tough matchup against Sauce Gardner, but he is questionable with a concussion.
  • The Chiefs made every effort to get Rice involved in the offense in his first game back. He had ten targets and scored two touchdowns. The Chiefs starters only played the first three quarters, with them being up big. Rice ranks as a top-five wide receiver in Week 8.
  • Olave has quietly had a great season so far. He has seen at least ten targets in five of seven games. He only had one touchdown in his first six games, but he scored two in Week 7, leading the way to his first top-ten weekly finish of the season. Olave is a solid WR2 for the rest of the season.

Tier 2: Proven Solid WR2s

Rank Player Opponent
11 A.J. Brown New York Giants
12 Michael Pittman Jr. Tennessee Titans
13 Keenan Allen Minnesota Vikings
14 Ladd McConkey Minnesota Vikings
15 Deebo Samuel* Kansas City Chiefs
16 Garrett Wilson* Cincinnati Bengals
17 Zay Flowers Chicago Bears
18 Quentin Johnston Minnesota Vikings
19 Tetairoa McMillan Buffalo Bills
20 Stefon Diggs Cleveland Browns

The players in this tier are all must-starts this week and will provide plenty of fantasy value throughout the season:

  • McConkey has had his two best games of the year in the last two weeks, while seeing a season-high 15 targets in the Week 7 loss. Herbert will not be throwing the ball 55 times every week, but this is a pass-first offense with all the injuries to the running backs and offensive linemen.

Tier 3: WR3s With Something to Prove

Rank Player Opponent
21 George Pickens Denver Broncos
22 Jordan Addison Los Angeles Chargers
23 DK Metcalf Green Bay Packers
24 Tee Higgins New York Jets
25 DeVonta Smith New York Giants
26 Wan’Dale Robinson Philadelphia Eagles
27 Jaylen Waddle Atlanta Falcons
28 Khalil Shakir Carolina Panthers
29 Xavier Worthy Washington Commanders
30 Romeo Doubs Pittsburgh Steelers

This tier of players includes wide receivers who are all borderline WR starts this week, depending on the size of your league:

  • Brown and Smith both got going for the Eagles in Week 7. Smith had 33.3 fantasy points, catching nine of eleven targets for 183 yards and a touchdown. Brown did not have the target share, only seeing six targets, but he had four catches for 121 yards and two touchdowns.
  • It was Addison who got the work for the Vikings instead of Jefferson in Week 7. Addison caught nine passes for 128 yards on two targets. Addison has scored at least 15 fantasy points in all three of his games so far this season.

Tier 4: Potential Flex WRs

Rank Player Opponent
31 Troy Franklin Dallas Cowboys
32 Ricky Pearsall* Houston Texans
33 Rashid Shaheed Tampa Bay Buccaneers
34 Jauan Jennings Houston Texans
35 Elic Ayomanor Indianapolis Colts
36 Darnell Mooney Miami Dolphins
37 Matthew Golden Pittsburgh Steelers
38 Kayshon Boutte Cleveland Browns
39 Terry McLaurin* Kansas City Chiefs
40 Sterling Shepard New Orleans Saints

These guys are FLEX options to fill out your starting lineup:

  • With six teams on a bye this week, this list is the weakest it has been all season. The 49ers receivers have tough matchups against the Texans great secondary. Look for Franklin to boom against the Cowboys.
