The future of quarterback Derek Carr with the Las Vegas Raiders could be up in the air following Saturday’s wild card round loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Carr’s interception late in the fourth quarter to seal the Bengals’ win could have been his last pass in a Raiders uniform.

At least that’s what some Washington Football Team fans and media speculated on Twitter. Supporters of Washington believe there’s a possibility Carr’s next pass could be in the burgundy and gold of the soon-to-be renamed Football Team.

Carr has been with the Raiders for eight seasons. He’s played in just one playoff game. He helped guide the Raiders to a playoff berth in 2016, but a fractured fibula kept him from playing in the game.

Carr is coming off off a career-high 4,804 passing yards with 23 touchdowns and 14 interceptions. He navigated Vegas to playoffs despite a tumultuous season off the field.

But major changes are on the horizon for the Raiders organization. Starting with hiring a new head coach following the controversial resignation of Jon Gruden, the Raiders could may want a clean slate. That could include offloading Carr, who is in the final year of his five-year, $125 million contract.

Washington is in the market for quarterback much like it was last offseason. Depending on who you ask, they checked in on Carr then. Given Vegas’ situation and Washington’s dire need to find a quality QB, the two teams could touch bases once again about Carr.
