What Can We Expect on Sunday from the Dolphins?

On Sunday, October 19th, the Miami Dolphins play the Cleveland Browns at Huntington Bank Field in Cleveland.

The Browns will again start a rookie quarterback in left-handed Dillon Gabriel.

The question for me as a Dolphins die-hard fan is, what do I expect from the Dolphins on Sunday?

Honestly, I am not sure if I am looking forward to the game.

Why?

Let me count the reasons.

• The 2025 Miami Dolphins are not very good; in fact, they stink, thanks to decisions made by General Manager Chris Grier and Coach Mike McDaniel and his coaching staff.

• Should Dillon Gabriel eventually pan out for the Browns, or his backup, Shedeur Sanders, the Browns are ahead of the Dolphins in finding their franchise quarterback.

• Tua is not our answer at quarterback. And in 2025, he is not good.

• The Dolphins’ games so far in 2025 have been challenging and painful to watch.

• The Browns will likely run for at least one hundred yards through the Dolphins’ porous and non-existent defense.

• What is there to cheer for this year? Tanking for draft picks? Looking forward to Stephen Ross firing Chris Grier and Mike McDaniel?

Now, on the bright side, I can muster some positivity about this team.

De’Von Achane is a stud and is a joy to watch.

• As is Jaylen Waddle, whose juggling catches make for unpredictable, entertaining moments.

Darren Waller is catching touchdown passes.

• The Miami Dolphins linebackers? Although the reason they make most of the tackles is because we do not have a defensive line that can stop anyone, Kenneth Grant is a bust?

So, I don’t know what to expect from this team on Sunday.

Will the team play together and care about the outcome?

Are there players who hold a grudge against their appointed leader, Tua Tagovailoa, for his ill-fated post-game comments this past week, or were Tua’s apologies enough?

And for that matter, are there players who have privately given up on the season and McDaniel?

We don’t know the answers, but fans want to see a winner, not a loser.
