What Is Chiefs' 'Worst Case Scenario' In 2025?

All offseason, we have heard of the things that are wrong with the Kansas City Chiefs and why Andy Reid's team is going to find things tough in 2025.

From the offensive line uncertainty, to Patrick Mahomes' form dip, and the receiver room's health, there is enough for the Chiefs' skeptics to cling to.

Granted, we aren't about to discount a team that in the last three years has won two Super Bowls and been to a third, but others are. However, Pro Football Network has played a little hypothetical game and predicted every team's worst-case scenario.

And when it comes to the Chiefs, the publication sees Kansas City finish with a 11-6 record.

"Since Patrick Mahomes took over as their starting quarterback in 2018, the Kansas City Chiefs haven’t finished below 11-6 in a regular season," Pro Football Network writes. "That feels like a safe worst-case scenario to provide for one of the NFL’s consistent powerhouses.

"The Chiefs went 15-2 last year, and one of those losses came in Week 18. They lost Joe Thuney and Tershawn Wharton this offseason, but their core on both sides of the ball is mostly intact. They could also drop a few of the toss-up games on their schedule, but double-digit wins feels like a lock for them."

If an 11-6 regular season record is the worst-case scenario for Kansas City, then the franchise can feel pretty good about its chances heading into the new season.

A 15-2 record isn't likely obtainable again, nor is being bulletproof in one-score games, so the Chiefs could be a better team in 2025, and have a worse record, which is what we think will happen.

Many doubt the Chiefs coming into the new season, but there is enough talent on both sides of the ball and the coaching staff to suggest that Kansas City won't be going away anytime soon.
