Steelers QB Kenny Pickett had about as good of a preseason as he could have hoped for heading into year two and it hints at what's to come for him in 2023.
Pickett completed 13-of-15 passes for 199 yards and two touchdowns and had a perfect passer rating of 158.3. The last two quarterbacks who finished with perfect passer ratings in the preseason, Eagles' Jalen Hurts and Bills' Josh Allen, finished second and third in MVP voting.

Of course, that's a lot to ask of Pickett in just his second year. Allen was entering his fifth season and Hurts was heading into his third.
However, Pickett showed promise in the second half of the 2022 season, leading Pittsburgh to a 9-8 record after a 2-6 start and throwing five touchdowns and just one interception.
If Pickett can finish the year as a top-10 quarterback in the league, it could certainly be enough to propel the Steelers deep into the playoffs given the amount of roster turnover the team has had this offseason.
Pittsburgh has surrounded Pickett with a stable of weapons, including wide receivers Diontae Johnson, George Pickens, Allen Robinson II and Calvin Austin III, tight end Pat Freiermuth and running backs Najee Harris and Jaylen Warren.
There are no more excuses for the Steelers' offense, which was basically dormant in 2022. But if the preseason is a sign of what's to come, fans in Pittsburgh should be very optimistic as every offensive drive led by Pickett resulted in a touchdown.
By all means, it was a small sample size, but following his "Picket-ture" perfect preseason, Pickett seems destined to make a massive jump in 2023.
