Anytime one of the NFC East teams has bad news surrounding them, it usually makes the Philadelphia Eagles smile (outside of an injury, of course).
Well, the Dallas Cowboys once again brought headlines at their training camp when a massive fight broke out on the practice field. That resulted in new head coach Brian Schottenheimer expressing his frustration and laying into his players.
“You want to fight, let’s f—cking fight. Get your ass on the sideline," Schottenheimer said via Jon Machota of The Athletic.
Too much fighting, and Cowboys coach Brian Schottenheimer isn’t happy. “You want to fight, let’s f—cking fight. Get your ass on the sideline.”

Some Eagles fans might be thinking, "Why is this bad news for the Eagles?" Granted, the Cowboys have not had much good press in training camp, from the reports of their frustration with their rookie running back Jaydon Blue to owner Jerry Jones taking a shot at Micah Parsons while they try to work out a new contract with him.
All of this has been great to watch from outside of Dallas, but Schottenheimer setting the tone and making his team run at training camp is showing a change in the guard. Schottenheimer's hiring was criticized by nearly everyone as a desperate move since most of the best candidates were off the table.
What Schottenheimer is demonstrating is that he's no longer going to tolerate the average play of his Cowboys team. He wants them to focus more on getting better instead of fighting.
That culture shift is bad news for the Eagles.
Most likely, the Eagles won't sweat it too much as they focus on their concerns during training camp, with an offense trying to find its groove from the start. The good news is that the Eagles are known for being a slow-starting team that picks up steam at the end, as they did last year.
Philly and Dallas open the season against each other on the first Thursday of the NFL season. Eagles fans will see if the Cowboys have truly changed or if they are the same team they blew out twice in 2024.
