What to know about Rob Gronkowski's 'Kick of Destiny'

Rob Gronkowski is known for getting his kicks off the field. On Sunday at the Super Bowl, the retired NFL tight end hopes to get his kicks on the field.

Well, at least one kick.

As part of a FanDuel promotion, he'll attempt a 25-yard field goal live. Whether Gronk is successful or not, fans who bet at least five bucks on the game through FanDuel will receive a share of $10 million in free bets.

Per OddsChecker:

A spokesperson for FanDuel has confirmed that Gronk does not have to successfully score a 25-yard field goal for you to earn your part of the $10 million dollar promotion. As long [as] he attempts to kick the field goal and you have wagered $5 on either Eagles or Chiefs' Moneyline, you'll receive your share of bonus bets.

On "The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon" last month, Gronk was confident he'd make a 25-yarder.

"I'm not gonna try, I'm gonna kick a field goal," said Gronkowski, who has a perfect mark as a kicker. In high school, he made his only attempt.

Earlier this week, however, Gronk admitted to struggling in practice, hitting well below 50 percent of his tries.

He jokingly suggested there's a lot more riding on him attempting the kick than fans receiving free bets.

Cowboys owner Jerry Jones is looking for a replacement for Brett Maher, who missed five extra points in a disastrous playoff run. Gronkowski is ready for a phone call.

While a funny image, Gronkowski sparking a second career as a kicker isn't as ridiculous as it sounds. The Cowboys have an opening, and Gronk already knows how to tackle like a kicker.
