Travis Kelce’s appearance at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am brought a different kind of spotlight to the California coastline.

The Kansas City Chiefs’ tight end is used to attention, but this week felt amplified.

Much of that buzz surrounds his relationship with Taylor Swift, which continues to generate interest wherever he goes.

Kelce opted not to stop for interviews during the event. However, PGA Tour pro Mackenzie Hughes offered a revealing insight into what he said behind the scenes.

Mackenzie Hughes reveals Travis Kelce’s admission about life with Taylor Swift

Kelce played at Spyglass Hill alongside Keith Mitchell, Mackenzie Hughes, and retired quarterback Alex Smith on Thursday, with large galleries tracking the group throughout the round.

Hughes later described Kelce as a “great personality, great vibe,” and admitted it was a treat to share the fairways with him.

Hughes, who called himself a “fringe Swiftie,” revealed that Kelce acknowledged how much things have changed recently.

“[Kelce] even said it hasn’t always been this way,” Hughes revealed. “But since they’re now engaged, it’s like, ‘My life has changed a little bit.’

“Even for him to say that, that’s pretty telling. He was already a pretty big star.”

Swift was rumored to be in town, though she was not present at Spyglass Hill. Even without her, the crowds were significant.

“It was busy without her,” Hughes added. “With her, I think it would have literally been pandemonium.”

Pebble Beach sells $60,000 in tickets after Kelce announcement

Tournament director Steve John confirmed that Kelce’s participation had an immediate commercial impact.

After it was announced that he would be playing in the pro-am, more than $60,000 in tickets were sold within 12 hours.

Interest continued to surge, with $21,000 worth of second-round tickets sold overnight before Kelce teed off at Pebble Beach.

More than 1,000 spectators lined the left side of the first fairway to watch his opening shot.

They saw him hit right into the trees before scrambling back into position and making par.

The moment reflected the scale of attention surrounding his presence, blending NFL stardom, golf, and pop culture in a way few athletes can.
