What we know about each Lions injury at this time, where things are at with Aidan Hutchinson, Alim McNeill, and more

We still have a little way to go before the Detroit Lions get their training camp going for the 2025 season, but time is flying, and it'll be here before you know it. Last season, the Lions dealt with some injuries, and some of the injuries lingered into the offseason. Lions fans want to know what's up.

There's a lot of misinformation and clickbait-type stuff going around right now, so here's a good chance to set the table on each Lions injury and talk about what we know from the team at this time. We're going with updates strictly from the players and from the team. We will not be attempting to apply any sort of timeline to returns.

Aidan Hutchinson

Hutchinson broke his leg in Week 6 against the Cowboys, and it was a tough loss for the Lions. Here's what we know about his injury at this time.

He's moving around on the football field. We've seen him come a long way from being on crutches to walking under water to running for the first time to this. Hutchinson has shared his journey back with the fans step by step.

As far as what the Lions are saying, the last update we got on Hutchinson was at the League meetings at the beginning of April. Holmes had this to say:

"I've seen enough movement and mobility in running at this stage that I feel very confident where he's gonna be at."

That's where things are at right now. In the coming weeks, we'll get some chances to hear from coaches at rookie mini-camp and OTAs, and we'll get some more updates then.

Alim McNeill

This one has been a little more difficult to figure out. McNeill tore his ACL against the Bills in December, and we haven't gotten a lot of updates on him. Unlike Hutchinson and some of the other players on this list, he hasn't been posting about his recovery.

The last update we got was from Dan Campbell at the league meetings when he said this.

"It's tough to say right now when Mac will be back, ACLs are all a little bit different. Obviously, it's not going to be training camp or probably even early part of the season.

But we will get him back and I think the big thing here is I think get him back healthy where he feels good, he can move, obviously protect himself but still be productive."

Brad Holmes did echo those thoughts on Day one of the 2025 NFL Draft, right after selecting Tyleik Williams, who will presumably fill in for McNeill early on.

“Yeah, I mean obviously – I think I said it in Florida, that there is a good chance we might be without him at the start of the season."

Again, as time goes on, we should get some more updates from coaches and possibly even McNeill soon.

Amik Robertson

Robertson broke his arm in the divisional round playoff game against the Commanders. Robertson has posted a ton of videos of himself working out on his Instagram, and as of six days ago, he's been working out privately and without any sort of cast or protection on his arm.

There's been no official word from the team at this time, and it appears he is not in Allen Park for offseason workouts.

Khalil Dorsey

Dorsey broke his leg against the Bills. In the same game, McNeill tore his ACL. Things have been very quiet on the Dorsey front, but we know a few things. The Lions recently re-signed him to a new contract. We have also recently seen him rehabbing on Instagram.
