FRISCO — Micah Parsons missed out on the NFL Playoffs for the first time in his career this season, having contributed to three straight 12-5 seasons for the Dallas Cowboys. Those three combined for two NFC Wild Card appearances and one Divisional Round appearance.
But Parsons has kept himself busy as the league calendar has shifted to the postseason, ringing in Wildcard week with a bold prediction about the Cowboys winning the Super Bowl next season. This time, his focus has turned to the games themselves.
While the Cowboys had last weekend off for the first time in three years, the Philadelphia Eagles and Washington Commanders both notched key wins to advance to separate sides of the bracket in the NFC Playoffs.
Parsons hinted that the latter could score another victory this weekend, revealing a bold take about Jayden Daniels that could help the Commanders spring a shocking upset.
"He's the 4th rookie quarterback to win a road playoff game. If he can win one, he can win another." Parsons said. "Aside from Patrick Mahomes, there isn't a better quarterback at finishing games," said Parsons. "In must-have moments, like end-of-game drives, he is flawless with no mishaps...
"If the game comes down to two minutes left and the score is tied 17-17, can they win with Daniels at the helm? It'll come down to Jared Goff. He's good enough, but you can't keep giving Daniels the ball."
To Daniels' credit, the rookie has proven unflappable in several late-game situations this season. Sunday's win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers was no exception, marching down the field on the game's final drive to set up the game-winning field goal.
Does that mean the Commanders will shock the NFL world with a win at Detroit? Parsons skirting around that answer reveals the truth there. The Commanders certainly have momentum and have less to lose in comparison to the Lions but they present significant obstacles to overcome.
