What's The 1 Word To Describe Bucs' Free Agency?

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers' offseason for most can easily be defined as great simply by the re-signing of Chris Godwin.

The receiver was the only big name the franchise had to worry about this offseason, but it also managed to re-sign guard Ben Bredeson, Lavonte David, and Sterling Shepard. But they also managed to sign star pass rusher Haason Reddick to give the defense some much-needed juice.

So that feels like some solid business for a team that won their division last season and hosted a playoff game for the second straight year while dealing with a host of injuries on both sides of the ball.

In a neat exercise, Bleacher Report describes each team's offseason in one word, and when it comes to the Buccaneers, the word used is hopeful.

"Mainly that there is still some fight left in this core with returning veterans Chris Godwin and Lavonte David," Bleacher Report writes. "Are they wrong? Probably, but it makes sense to give this gang one more shot with Baker Mayfield at quarterback."

The Buccaneers had the fourth-best scoring offense in football last season (29.5 p/g), and with Josh Grizzard taking over from Liam Coen, much of the same is expected.

Plus, with Reddick, the Buccaneers now have some fear factor on defense, which will help others in Calijah Kancey and Vita Vea to wreak havoc in the backfield.

The Buccaneers appear to be running it back with last year's roster, and after a 10-7 season with injuries crippling them, hopeful feels like the right word.

As in, the Bucs are "hopeful" the injury bug doesn't bite them again.
