With minicamp week over, the Cowboys are now off until late July, but we got a little bit of interesting information as they leave for a month’s break before they return for the fun stuff and things really start to heat up.
We have seen George Pickens show up to camp, and we have seen a few battles already forming before we see them get into full swing in late July.
With that said, I have a few guys I think you should buy stock on, and a few players that you should sell right now if you can.
This does not mean I will be right, but these are my thoughts, and you don’t have to agree, and if you don’t drop a comment on who you will add to this list.
Right now, it seems like a battle for either the starting left tackle or right tackle job is wide open.
As it sits, Tyler Guyton is the starting-left tackle and Terence Steele is the starting right tackle, but both Nate Thomas and Drew Shelton, the 4th round pick out of Penn State in April, are making some noise.
It would not shock me if one of these two guys ended up as the starting tackle by the time that September rolls around.
When you take a look at Pro Football Focus, the Cowboys OL led the league with a total of 133 penalties.
The biggest issue is clearly Tyler Guyton and Ternece Steele. Guyton had 7 and Steele had 6. Both of them, as of right now, are projected to be on the starting line once again this year, and they need Guyton to make a year three leap.
As bad as it sounds, yes, Caelen Carson is trending up heading into training camp. DaRon Bland, who I will talk about in a bit, worked with the rehab team all last week during minicamp.
I never thought, after what he showed us last year, he would be on my list of trending up, but the problem is, they have nobody else!
Cowboys HC Brian Schottenheimer mentioned WR CeeDee Lamb, DE Malachi Lawrence and CB Caelen Carson as guys who have made plays so far in OTAs.

Revel was poor when he returned from his torn ACL a year ago, and guys like Devin Moore are also injury-prone.
The best cornerback on the football team right now is honestly probably Cobie Durant. Caleb Downs is going to play a little bit of Nickle, but I am not counting him yet because we don’t know if he is going to play just that or switch between that and safety, which is what he should be doing.
Let’s see what happens when training camp gets here at the end of July.
They are banking on guys that have issues with injuries just being able to return and play at a very high level.
DaRon Bland is supposed to be the team’s no. 1 CB, and he spent the entire minicamp working with the rehab team.
Bland will continue to be given chances, but with a potential out in his contract after the 2026 season, he can’t afford to miss much more time.
The good news for the Cowboys is that they can get out of that horrible deal they have with Bland after he had one great season.
The four-year, $92 million dollar deal that he signed just over a year ago. They can get out of it a lot easier than you might think they can.
The Cowboys can affordably get out of Bland’s deal in 2027, absorbing $12.9 million in dead cap space. Unless he completely reverts to the player we saw early in his career, Dallas is likely going to use that.
My favorite player to watch during training camp and it has been nothing good coming from inside that building from Michael Trigg.
The offense is going to be great with or without a sleeper, but I am still going back to Michael Trigg, I think he makes the roster and becomes the TE2 behind Jake Ferguson.
Trigg had 50 catches for 694 yards and six touchdowns at Baylor last season, so it is not like he is walking in as a guy who never saw the field. The issue is his maturity.

He is going to take Luke Schoonmaker’s spot as the TE2, that is my big bold prediction this summer and when he does we can revisit this.
I could add so many more to this list, but I would be here all week long.
