Super Bowl LIX is on Feb. 9 at the Superdome in New Orleans. The Kansas City Chiefs and Philadelphia Eagles face off as Patrick Mahomes' team tries for the historic Super Bowl three-peat.
As always, fans watch the Super Bowl also for the commercials and the halftime show. This year's halftime show features Kendrick Lamar, and it was revealed that he will have s special guest, SZA.
Another notable honor is having the privilege to sing the National Anthem at the Super Bowl.
Many have wondered who is singing the National Anthem at Super Bowl LIX. The answer is Jon Batiste, as he announced on his X page back in November.
Batiste is a five-time Grammy award winner and 22-time Grammy nominee who has genres including jazz, hip-hop, and R&B.
Batiste was born in Kenner, Louisiana, less than a half-hour drive from the Superdome.
The Louisiana native performing at sporting events is nothing new. Batiste performed on the Opening Night of the 2017 US Open and performed the National Anthem before the 2017 NBA All-Star Game at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, both singing and playing the piano.
Batiste studied at the Julliard School and plays multiple instruments, including piano and guitar.
He also played during the MLB's tribute to Willie Mays and the Negro Leagues at Rickwood Field in June 2024.

Furthermore, Batiste was also bandleader and musical director of "The Late Show With Stephen Colbert" from 2015 to 2022, so he has an impressive resume.
Batiste's latest album, Beethoven Blues, was released on November 15.
Super Bowl LIX kicks off at 6:30 p.m. ET and will be aired on FOX.
