Who The Miami Dolphins Should Take In The Draft

With this year’s draft exactly one month away, I have decided to give out my take on who I think the Miami Dolphins should take in this year’s draft. I will go through each prospect I think the Dolphins should draft and explain why they are a good fit on this team. We shall now take a deep dive into who the Miami Dolphins should take in the draft. Bear in mind, I will only cover select prospects

Jordyn Tyson

With the Miami Dolphins having the eleventh pick in the draft, they should be in a prime position to take Jordyn Tyson. He is a tall physical receiver at six feet two, two hundred pounds. A far cry from Jaylen Waddle, who the Dolphins recently traded to the Denver Broncos for a first-round pick, which is the thirtieth pick. Waddle was a speedy short receiver, while Tyson is a tall physical receiver, something this Dolphins offense needs to pair with Tutu Atwell and Jalen Tolbert.

Not to mention Greg Dulcich at tight end. As for his Arizona State tenure last season, he had sixty-one receptions for seven hundred eleven yards and eight touchdowns. So he has the stats, we will see if he can back it up in the National Football League, just like the rest of the prospects I will discuss.

Avieon Terrell

Avieon Terrell a cornerback out of Clemson who also is projected to be a first round pick the question is how early or late will he be drafted. Mel Kiper has him going to our arch-nemesis, the Buffalo Bills, at 26, four picks before the Dolphins’ next selection at 30. I could absolutely see a scenario where the Dolphins get aggressive in the draft and trade up spots to get in front of rival teams if they see someone like Terrell slipping.

As for Avieon Terrell’s stats at the combine he ran a four three nine forty time(pro day) followed by a thirty four inch vertical and seventeen bench. Depends on whether he falls into the Dolphins’ lap at 30; we will see how the draft goes if he does.

Rest of The Draft

As for the rest of the draft, this is where the Dolphins could cook, as they do have four third-round picks, so they have all the ammunition needed to trade up in the draft if they see someone they like that fits the scheme they are trying to run, potentially trading back into the second round. They could easily do what Green Bay did and take some more wide receiver help in later rounds, which I think they will do in the third round and beyond, given Green Bay’s past, since it is where Jon Eric Sullivan came from. It is a matter of scouting as well; you need good scouts to find the diamonds in the rough in the draft, not just the free agents that we bring in.

My First Round Draft Projections In Summary

The bulk of these projections is for the first round, as that is where the talent is, and also in later rounds.

As for the prospects I covered, it was mostly Jordyn Tyson and Avieon Terrell. I forgot to mention I do think and this is a rumor that the Dolphins will trade Jordyn Brooks to acquire more draft capital to make more noise in this year’s draft. Will they be the team to watch in this year’s draft? Only time will tell, so stay tuned to my draft recap after the draft.
