Who will score the first touchdown of the NFL season on Thursday night?

After a long and blistering hot offseason, the 2023 NFL campaign is finally set to open. And you know what that means -- prop bets on just about any outcome in the first game of the season.

Patrick Mahomes and the defending champion Kansas City Chiefs will be hosting Jared Goff and the Detroit Lions in what promises to be an exciting matchup. There promises to be lots of drama to open up the new season, especially with the shocking news of Travis Kelce's knee injury just two days before the opening kickoff. So of course, everyone is wondering: Who will score the touchdown of the season?

Here's what oddsmakers are saying.

At DraftKings, the Chiefs are -175 favorites to score the first touchdown of the 2023 season. The first touchdown being scored by the Lions -- who are the 4.5-point underdogs in Thursday's game -- is priced at +135.

Now, the odds for who will score first in this game are interesting. Kelce is still the favorite to score the first TD of the game at +600 (6-1) odds, although that is bound to change depending on his playing status for Thursday. Chiefs running back Isiah Pacheco is the next favorite to score the first TD of that game at +850 (17-2) odds.

Lions wide receiver Amon-Ra St. Brown, who is expected to have a huge season for Detroit, is listed at +1000 (10-1) along with Chiefs wide receiver Kadarius Toney, Lions rookie running back Jahmyr Gibbs and former Chicago Bears running back David Montgomery.

Kickoff from Arrowhead Stadium between the Chiefs and the Lions is scheduled for 8:20 p.m. ET on Thursday.
