Once again, the Pittsburgh Steelers are prepared to wait for as long as Aaron Rodgers wants.
Rodgers hasn't made up his mind about retirement, and just like he's done in the past couple of years, he'll probably drag his decision deep into the offseason.
This time, however, the Steelers may not have much leverage. They were his only realistic destination last offseason, but could another team be in play now?
With Arizona Cardinals HC Mike LaFleur hiring Nathaniel Hackett as his offensive coordinator, it wouldn't be shocking to see Rodgers linked to the team.
"He's very [highly] thought of, particularly, within our profession," LaFleur said of hiring Hackett. "And you guys believe one thing from this press conference, it is literally I wanted him and nobody else -- and he's here."
Hackett has a close relationship with Rodgers to the point that the Denver Broncos may have hired him as their head coach in an attempt to lure him to Mile High. Then, the three worked together with the New York Jets, and while things definitely didn't work out, LaFleur might want to run it back.
The Cardinals still have to decide Kyler Murray's future, but it looks like the franchise is ready to move on from him after benching him even when he was healthy last season.
Rodgers is heading toward the twilight of his career, but he's still one of the greatest passers of all time. He threw for 3,322 yards, 24 touchdowns and seven picks last season.
