Why Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes wants credit for Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce’s relationship

The Kansas City Chiefs are undoubtedly one of the most popular teams in the NFL. It helps when you have the league’s best QB, two Super Bowl victories in a row, and a star player dating the most famous woman in the world. Patrick Mahomes wants some credit for the Travis Kelce + Taylor Swift relationship, and he may have helped them kick things off.

On a recent episode of The Pat McAfee Show, Mahomes spoke on the part he played during the beginning of Taylor and Travis’s relationship.

“It’s been a fun run, I’d like to take some of the credit,” Mahomes said. “I was the one who invited Travis to the first Taylor concert with the friendship bracelet. He was sitting in my suite, so I feel like I was the matchmaker.”

According to Mahomes, he is the one who urged Travis to pursue Taylor.

“I’ve had some input there as well,” Mahomes said. “I was like dude, you should just go for it, just go for it. And you know Travis man, he does it, and he’s a great dude and I’m glad that it’s all worked out for the best.”

Pat McAfee joked that Mahomes could become both the greatest football player of all time and the greatest matchmaker of all time. Pairing Travis and Taylor is a pretty good resume as a matchmaker.

It seems that the whole NFL has Patrick Mahomes to thank for all the revenue and attention that’s been created thanks to the Travis Kelce + Taylor Swift relationship. The increased viewership and attention for the NFL has probably made more for the league than the Chiefs dynasty run.

Swifties have embraced Kelce and want to know everything about him. In a handful of recent interviews, Kelce has been asked about his favorite Swift songs and albums.

When asked about his favorite Swift album by Access Hollywood, Kelce initially answered 1989. He then changed his answer to The Tortured Poets Department, which released during their relationship.

Based on his favorite albums, it should be no surprise which songs are his favorites. Kelce ranked his top three Swift songs. In the below clip, he names “Blank Space” from 1989 as well as two new hits from The Tortured Poets Department — The Alchemy and So High School.
