The Arizona Cardinals will be without starting quarterback Kyler Murray for their early-November ‘Monday Night Football’ fixture against the Dallas Cowboys.
Murray has been sidelined with a foot injury for Arizona's last two games, but practiced this week. Still, head coach Jonathan Gannon announced that Jacoby Brissett will get the nod vs. Dallas, which would make it his third start of the season.
Gannon previously indicated that Murray could possibly play a role on Monday night. However, according to ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler, there are no plans to have him on the field at any point.
“Cardinals QB Kyler Murray (foot) is not expected to play tonight, per source,” Fowler reported in the buildup to the outing on Monday evening. “Head coach Jonathan Gannon said the team would wait until closer to game time to see if Murray could still have a role in the game but that is not the plan.”

Murray is among some notable NFL players expected to be traded in the offseason. There are rumors of the Cardinals possibly looking to move on from him, with his contract considered to be trade-friendly, while he isn’t expected to command a hefty asking price.
The former Oklahoma star has passed for 962 yards, six touchdowns, and three interceptions in five games this season.
On another note, the Cowboys have offered a roster update heading into the game, having activated center Cooper Beebe from the injured reserve following a foot and ankle injury sustained earlier in the season.
Both teams are keen on a win from Monday’s outing.
The Cardinals, who are playing away from home, have only won two games out of seven. The home side hasn’t fared significantly better, winning three and drawing one from their first eight games under new head coach Brian Schottenheimer.
