The Green Bay Packers have gone all-in on building around emerging star quarterback Jordan Love.
Despite playing in one of the most competitive divisions in football, after Green Bay was one of three teams to reach the NFL playoffs out of the NFC North last season, there is plenty of reason to believe that Love’s best football is ahead of him in large part because of his emerging supporting cast.
As the 2025 season approaches, even Love is surprised by the commitment the Packers have made to surround him with young weapons like Matthew Golden, Savion Williams, Tucker Kraft, Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, and a slew of others.
According to Bleacher Report NFL analyst Alex Kay, Green Bay’s youth movement is the Packers’ biggest reason for optimisim this upcoming season.
“First-round pick Matthew Golden rounds out a deep receiving corps that has lacked a true star,” Kay writes of the Packers, for B/R. “With third-rounder Savion Williams also expected to play a role for this unit in Year 1.
“If the defense proves it can overcome the departure of standout cornerback Jaire Alexander, the Packers have every reason to believe they can make the postseason for a third consecutive year.”
Green Bay’s defense may hold the key to closing the gap on the competition within the division, but the Packers have set Love up to make major strides in his development, which could spark a deep run if he delivers.
