Why Rams WR Allen Robinson is a good bet for fantasy owners

Fantasy owners should consider adding Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Allen Robinson, whose target share seems poised to go up with Van Jefferson reportedly recovering from minor knee surgery.

CBS Sports Insider Josina Anderson tweeted Thursday that Jefferson is expected to miss more than just Week 1.

The Rams' receiving corps gets much thinner without Jefferson on the field. Outside of Cooper Kupp and Allen Robinson, only one other wide receiver currently is listed on the Rams' depth chart: Ben Skowronek, who caught one pass last season.

With Kupp sure to draw an opponent's best defender or defenders, Robinson will find himself more open than he was in Chicago over the past several seasons.

Robinson’s lackluster numbers last year scare some fantasy football owners, who might be eager for a more proven quantity. Robinson caught just 38-for-66 targets for 410 yards and one touchdown over 12 games.

The Rams, who played the Bills in Week 1, reportedly have interest in Odell Beckham Jr., with CBS Sports reporting earlier in the week that they’re keeping a full nameplate and locker open for the 29-year-old.

Beckham Jr. needs time to prepare himself for the season if he signs, so Robinson will have time to put up big numbers and become a focal point of the offense.
